Senior Construction Manager
Role
Description
The Senior Construction Manager is responsible for
developing technical packages to support Business Development focused on
distributed generation photovoltaic systems. This position will be responsible
to establish initial design criteria and set customer expectations. This
position will be responsible for site visits and technical liaison with
customers during the development phase. This position will be responsible for
the construction of distributed generation photovoltaic systems up to
commissioning of the power plant.
This
person will be expected to travel throughout the United States regularly. The role
will also work to assist in the development of large utility scale photovoltaic
plants as needed. The Senior Construction Manager will work closely with the
rest of the Technical Managers to develop standardized design criteria,
engineering practices, and construction methods to ensure ease of
operability. The ideal candidate will
have strong attention to detail and be able to work in a fast pace environment.
This
position is in the Technical Group and will report to the Senior Vice President.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This individual is responsible for the following tasks:
1.
Create and standardize site assessment review to
identify strategies and risk associated with design and construction of photovoltaic
systems.
2.
Understand design requirements for multiple regions
and for different equipment used in various regions across the country.
3.
Update the cost analysis system for all regions and
technologies.
4.
Create and standardize construction quality
procedures.
5.
Support development efforts: ground conditions and
construction feasibility.
6.
Integrate standardized designs with existing design
tools flexibility to updating design tools and templates.
7.
Work with the customers engineers to discuss designs
and meet specific needs.
8.
Coordinate timely completion and delivery of initial
design packages.
9.
Construct
photovoltaic systems: supervise all contractors on site, comply with all
H&S regulations and ensure that contractors meet all H&S rules and
regulations, comply with project schedule, ensure the photovoltaic construction
project is being built per specifications, and ensure that the PV project meets
FRV quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
·
Knowledge of photovoltaic systems design and
construction: 3 year minimum.
·
Experience
constructing other energy power plants.
·
Experience working in the field and coordinating with outside
customers.
·
Willingness to travel (up to 50% of time)
·
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (Civil
Engineering is a plus) or equivalent experience
